This is a gritty and beautifully told story of integration, separation, love and identity, with extremely powerful performances from the two leads.

Persecuted in Iran for her love of another woman, Fariba flees to Germany where she is held in a camp for those seeking political asylum. When her application for residence is denied her desperate prospects take an unlikely twist following the unfortunate suicide of fellow asylum seeker, Siamak: without even time to grieve, she assumes his identity and uses his temporary permit to enter the country and a place in a men's hostel.

In order to pay for forged documents she takes an illegal job and meets the vibrant Anne who becomes intrigued by this stranger. The two fall in love and it's only a matter of time before Ann suspects Siamak's true identity.

This is a gritty and beautifully told story of integration, separation, love and identity, with extremely powerful performances from the two leads.

Touching
I was slightly underwhelemed at first, then captivated, then angry. This movie starts out gentl, gets groovy and then kicks you right in between your eyes. Worth a watch.
