Vampire Diary - dirs. Mark James & Phil O'Shea

1 customer reviews, average rating:

This highly individual, erotic, genre-busting independent British film 'VAMPIRE DIARY' is set to become a classic in the true tradition of British Cult Horror. An absolute must for lovers of a ripping yarn with a bloody twist.

"Loads of attitude and atmosphere, this is a terrific trashy vampire thriller with a nice emotional kick... a camp, artful little epic." - ShadowsOnTheWall.co.uk

Premièring straight onto DVD after successfully playing at numerous festivals around the globe, the film fathoms the depths of London's underground society of 'weekend vampires'. Made in the fashion of a 'video diary', the film features a young, talented and attractive cast including Anna Walton, Morven Macbeth, Justin McDonald, Jamie King and Kate Sissons. Added to this the soundtrack features a maelstrom of throbbing tracks from some of today's leading 'Goth' bands including Interlock, Fields of the Nephilim, Scary Bitches and the doyenne of the scene, Rita Lynch.

Whilst making a documentary, filmmaker Holly meets the highly enigmatic and beautiful Vicki who claims she is a real-life vampire. By turns fascinated by and attracted to her, Holly thinks that Vicki could be her soulmate and soon the two embark on a passionate affair. However Vicki's lust for blood is growing and when Holly discovers that Vicki is pregnant with a 'vampire' baby, she is drawn into a spiral of death, deceit and betrayal from which she will never emerge.

Not all the standard rules of vampirisms are adhered to in this movie.

Its gross and sexy at the same time, there are hot females and vulnerable males involved. It is a love story...... and yet it troubled and excited me.

The violence (feeding frenzies) is kind of disturbing in the way it has been normalised. Somehow you want them all to live.

I really liked its refreshing difference.
