'Out at the Cinema' highlights the gay communitys journey from persecution to emancipation to acceptance through gay cinema.

The book features masterpieces such as the politicized drama Victim in the 60s, The Naked Civil Servant in the 70s and the AIDS cinema of the 80s.
Today Gay cinema has given way to celebrate a vast array of gay life-styles and now shifted from living on the fringe to mainstream and 2005's Academy awards were dubbed "The Gay Oscars" with gongs going to Brokeback Mountain, Capote and Transamerica.
